October 17th & Save the Next Girl
October 17 marks two years since Morgan Dana Harrington was brutally murdered and left in a remote field in rural Virginia.
On October 12th, Dr. Laurie Roth and Susan Murphy Milano will talk with Dan and Gil Harrington to discuss the progress in Morgan’s case, and to let listeners know how they can become actively involved in preventing the next tragedy through current legislation.
On October 17th, an event will be held at the bridge where Morgan was last seen. VCRT and Karen ReMine searched for Morgan 2 years ago with the K-9 group. Karen, a Virginia Canine Recovery Team (VCRT) member, and K-9 dogs will be in full search gear. State police and Dan and Gil will speak.
The Harringtons are building a legacy in Morgan’s name in several ways. A scholarship has been set up at Virginia Tech where she attended, an educational wing is being built in Zambia by Orphan Medical Network International (OMNI), and recently launched a multi-media campaign titled “Help Save the Next Girl” to raise awareness about the vulnerability of young women to predators and to offer support to other victims’ families.
