ANNUAL SCHOOL REPORT FOR 2012
The school programs for 2012 went on so well. The curriculum is still the same and students continue to learn the basic six learning areas, namely;
Mathematics,
Social and Development Studies,
Creative and Technology Studies,
Integrated Science,
Languages – English and Bemba and Literacy.
ATTENDANCE/ABSENTEEISM
The total school attendance for 2012 was at 194, of which 98 were girls and 96 were boys respectively.
A total number of 20 students wrote the grade seven National examination and all of them passed to 8th grade. Four of our students were among the top 9 students out of the 285 students who wrote the exams at Mwabombeni Basic School in Twapia. Yet another 100% pass rate in three consecutive years.
Last year’s general attendance was good though we had a few students with poor attendance. However, as a school we tried our best to help these students improve their attendance by inviting their parents and talk to them. We reminded the parents that, as much as we want to empower these wonderful children through education, they also cooperate by attending lessons regularly.
ILLNESSES/INJURIES
Student’s health was good. A few cases of malaria were recorded. We lost a student by the name of Fridah Kabanda who suffered and died of malaria. All students received treated mosquito nets.
The graduation ceremony went on so well, we that the OMNI board for the all the support towards the event. We also had a successful annual field trip for the 7th graders.
DELIVERIES
All students were given a brand new pair of shoes from BATA shoe company, I’m so grateful for the gifts.
MEDICAL CARE
Most pupils and staff with dental problems were attended to by Dr. Dag. Some teeth were extracted.
MHEW
We thank OMNI once more for the wonderful and standard building, the MHEW; it has added beauty to our site. I want to assure you that we will take good care of it. The official opening of the MHEW was so colorful. I’m very glad to inform you that our school is growing at a fast pace.
