Reference is made from the above mentioned captioned subject matter. I have to report to you that:
WELFARE OF STAFF
Is reported to be fair for all staff members and their families and no illness was reported this week.
SCHOOL
The school is being managed very well and we have continued with normal learning and feeding program. The following students were reported sick; Sara, Martha, Ireen grade 3 and Eunicia grade four are suffering from Malaria. Felemu has a swollen leg and Justine still has seizure.
We had no power at the site this week starting from Tuesday to date. This is due to the OMNI/Zesco transformer which supplies power to the site developed a fault. Efforts to have it replaced have being made and waiting for Zesco to come to the site and have it replaced. We have a generator in the store room which we can have someone to check it out and see if it can work and if so will use it for pumping water. Many thanks for your advice on the water situation which is being sourced from George compound. I equally advised the teachers and parents to be boiling the water for use at the site during the period.
EXCHANGE RATE
The Kwacha is now trading at K 11.25 buying at K 11.46 selling against the US dollar by the ending of business day.
GENERAL ACTIVITIES
The goats and chickens are doing fine and have continued to provide eggs to our school.
BUILDINGS
I am very happy to confirm to you that the contractor has finished the building works on the first classroom block and he installed the windows. He further said that he will start the installations of the roof by next week and commence the painting and decorating.
Classroom block # 2 is currently and window level and the contractor said that by next week he will reach roof level. See attached pictures for the two classroom blocks.
TRANSPORT
The canter is in good condition and serviceable as we managed to have it fixed while the Hilux is still down and working on it.
VITAL INSTALLATIONS
Find attached are the bill of quantity for re-doing the MHEW floor.
