November 29, 2013 / OMNI / School Reports

Dear Karen,

The has closed today, Nov. 29, and will reopen on Monday, January 13, 2014. The teachers will break on Friday, 6th Dec. 2013 and resume work on Monday, January 6, 2014.

The ministry of education want to change the school syllabus, therefore, we cannot plan for the next school calendar until the new syllabus is out. according to the district teacher’s resource centre, all the teachers will be oriented on the new syllabus before 2014.

The attendance in general has been good.

Dominic was admitted to the Children’s hospital, he has malaria and anemia. This boy’s health is not good. He was in hospital a couple of weeks ago. Is there a way Omni can assist our boy?

Wilson has malaria, Evelyn is vomiting, Angela and Gracia are on malaria medication, Shaban is sick. The rain season just started, hence an increase in malarial cases.

All the teachers performed very well during the term.

The school held an annual general meeting, AGM, discuss among other things the; cooks for 2014 and the school committee. The attendance was very good as 87 parents/ guardians attended the AGM.

It was agreed that parents and guardians to next year’s first graders will be helping with food preparation and the current school committee was given a mandate to continue overseeing the affairs of the school I. 2014.
