Mr. Kaumba
Look at the face of Mr. Kaumba. He is a master carver of crucified African Jesuses. The one I bought will pay for half a year for his young daughter, Lilian Kaumba, to attend OMNI School, and to learn math, social studies, environmental science, expressive arts, computer literacy, hygiene, Zambian history, gardening, bee-keeping, and singing in The Morgan Harrington Educational building on OMNI’s campus. I believe that perspective is arrogant when it isn’t fluid. And that’s my mission, my duty, to stay capable of yielding, of reaching, of trying to offer some relief, some beauty and belonging, to as many beings as I can. That’s my joy and my privilege, and I am so grateful.
