END OF TERM ONE SCHOOL REPORT 2013
The school programs in term one went on well despite undergoing some changes in the menu. The students are still studying in the six learning areas.
ATTENDANCE/ABSENTEEISM
Although we recorded some cases of absenteeism, the general attendance was good. The total number of students is 201 of which 97 are girls and 104 are boys respectively.
ILLNESSES/INJURIES
The term recorded more cases of malaria. We thank OMNI for donation of treated mosquito nets to all students and staff, which has led to a reduction in malarial cases.
Kennedy, a 1st grader with an elbow dislocation is improving.
DELIVERIES
We received a donation from a couple from Kitwe, which included: loaves of bread, 10kg sugar, 3x25kg bags of mealie meal, assorted 2nd hand clothes and bedding.
We received the mail from the sponsors for the students.
ASSESSMENTS
The general performance of the students in the just ended term one assessment is good. There has been an improvement in the results compared to term 3’s.
I have requested each teacher to submit a list of students who are not able to read in respective grades and challenge them to help those identified.
I will find time to assess them personally and suggest how best we can help them read and write with ease.
We received students from Northrise University who came to help our students write letters to sponsors. Our students enjoyed having fun with them.
CALENDAR
School closed on Friday, 5th of April and will re-open on Monday, 6th of May, 2013. The teachers will take 10 days off and will resume work on the 22nd April for scheduling and forecasting.
