APRIL SCHOOL REPORT
Teachers have resumed work after a ten days vacation.
Planning
We’ve been making teaching and learning aids for term two. Next week, we’ll start preparing schemes of work and weekly forecasts.
Term two programs. The school has lined up some sports activities for the learners. Exercises help to keep people healthy and physically fit. All the learners will be divided into two groups, and compete in various sports activities such as the 100m, 200m and 400m races.
Others will compete in relays, bottle race, sack race needle race, three-leg race and high and long jumps. Bottle and needled races needs a lot of concentration. In a bottle race, participants carry a bottle on their heads while running. The one who reaches the finishing point with a bottle intact on her head wins the race; it’s a girl’s race. As for needle race, it is done in pairs. The one at the finishing point holds a needle and the other at the starting point holds a sewing thread, when a whistle is blown, the one with a thread runs to insert it in the needle hole. One who inserts it first, wins the race.
Literacy
As a school we have identified learners with difficulties in reading. Volunteers from Northrise University will be coming to our school, when we open, to help us with the reading program.
Teachers
Teachers have continued to be dedicated to their work. Kidron is at college and will join us in preparation works on Monday 29th April 2013. Mubanga Chileshe, new teacher is doing fine. She has coped up with her work so well and likes the Omni school and all the staff.
