Power shedding is a common thing here, so connecting with you is spotty.

Baluba proved to be another challenging day in the field of mobile medicine. We set up in a building that is partially inhabited by the homeless and less than accommodating but comfortable to us. The team is working amazingly well with advanced diseases.

We admitted 5 critical patients to the hospital. Jason took a small child who was critical to the Children’s Hospital in one of our trucks. Our bus took 4 patients to the general hospital 40 min from our site.

After nearly 500 patients, we closed the clinic with head lamps and flashlights hanging from the rafters of the building.

Chriss, Doug, Derrick, and I did 3 home visits to very ill patients. Our first had end stage TB and lay on a first floor next to their chicken who was in a tin tub. We left food and supplies for him. The second man was end stage HIV. Food was left along with a large tray of eggs. His wife was 8 months pregnant with their 8th child. The third visit was a child with a debilitating disease of unknown origin.

We celebrated the birthday of Henry “H2” later at the lodge complete with a cake. Our remembrances were with Morgan Harrington as this would have been her birthday as well.

Lives were saved and we were blessed.

Blessings
The OMNI team
Karen checking in

Dear friends and family, Yesterday after our clinic in Baluba we arrived back at our lodge to find the power back on again.
