The seminar was about how headteachers can execute their duties effectively.<\/p>\n
We first looked at how one can become an effective school manager;<\/p>\n
One has to be knowledgeable, have skills, be creative and committed to his his\/her work. A manager was defined as one who has official power and authority to demand performance from all subordinates. A manager must be task oriented and aim at accomplishing on his\/her functions. A good manager is one who plans what he\/she must do daily.<\/p>\n
We also learned about the attributes: visionary,demonstrates initiatives, be professional by discussing issues with the concerned people, Decisive, analytic ability, open to new ideas and change, be consistent and above all show integrity.<\/p>\n
Human relations in management and good record keeping in schools was also discussed.<\/p>\n
Lastly, we also looked at how we can improve the reading culture in our schools.<\/p>\n
One way is by making libraries in schools and encourage the students to read more and be well informed.<\/p>\n
