Loss of a Student

Dear Karen,

The school opened on Monday January 14, 2019.


I regret to inform you of the untimely death of one of our first graders by the name of Bukata. She reported for classes on Monday, and did not show up on the he following day. She had malaria and was taken to the he clinic where she was diagnosed with malaria and treated with coartem. She passed on yesterday at home and burial will take place tomorrow morning.

All the teachers have reported for work and are very ready to teach students in their respective classes.

The students from grade 1 to 7 will be studying the following subjects; mathematics, English and icibemba languages, integrated science, social studies and creative and technology studies.

Those in the 8th and 9th grades are studying the following subjects; English, integrated science, civics, history, geography, agriculture science, business and computer studies, icibemba and religious education.

Attendance
Grade 1
Average attendance was 39/40. Bukata passed on yesterday.

Grade 2
Average attendance was 31/40. Reagan has fever and headache.

Grade 3
Average attendance was 23/38. Only 2 students have not yet reported, Catherine and Shila.

Grade 4
Average attendance was 20/34. Mary has malaria and is on medication.

Grade 5
Average attendance was 20/27.

Grade 6
Average attendance was 21/31. Musenge and John have malaria and headache/fever respectively.

Grade 7
Average attendance was 20/30. Three students have not yet reported. Eunicia was diagnosed with malaria and is on medication.

Grade 8
Average attendance was 11/13 who have so far reported. Shabani has malaria and is on medication.

Grade 9
Average attendance was 14/36.

We experienced very heavy rain and down pours and this affected our students attendance so much.

Thanks for all the support. The school once more produced 100% passrate at grade seven level.
